Beer Factory Tours in Nagoya

Asahi Brewery Tour - Nagoya Located close to Moriyama station and next to the Shonai river, you can find the the Nagoya "Koujou", Asahi's 4th largest Brewery in the country.  The facory offers tours in Japanese (various times throughout the day) and also in English (times are limited to when a tour guide is available).  During the 75 minute tour of the factory, you can learn about the brewing process from start to finish and end the tour with a sampling of some of Asahi's famously brewed beverages.  There are pamplets in both English and Japanese available and a nice gift shop to stock up on your asahi branded goods.

Kirin Brewery Tour - Nagoya (Kiyosu) The Nagoya Kirin Brewery is located just on the outskirts of Nagoya in between Kiyosu and Biwajima Stations on the Tokaido Honsen Line.  The 1 hour free guided tour is unfortunately only conducted in Japanese, but is still worth the trip as the process is easy to understand even without having Japanese ability.  Well run and with very attentive staff, it's amazing this tour is actually free, especially as it includes a 20 minute tasting at the end where you can sit and enjoy 2 quite decent size beers at no cost.
